Żabka launch first autonomous c-store in Poland
Żabka plans continued roll-out across Poland and Europe of a format that will be a combination of Żabka’s micro markets Zappka and AiFi’s AI-powered NanoStores.
Żabka, the largest convenience store chain in Poland, launched the company's first autonomous convenience store in its home-country in tandem with AiFi, a leading company creating frictionless autonomous shopping experiences powered by AI. Located in Pozland, the 24/7 210-sqft Zappka store will be situated within the premises of the Poznan International Fair center, servicing customers on the go.
Żabka and AiFi plan to continue rolling-out across Poland and Europe of a format that will be a combination of AiFi’s NanoStores and Żabka's micro markets powered (Zappka) by AI, according to a company’s press release.
The partnership involves integrating AiFi's autonomous store platform with the Żappka App, which has over 5 million users.
After scanning to enter, the computer vision-powered cameras around the store will observe and track the items that a customer places in their shopping bag. Once done shopping, customers can walk out and will receive a receipt to their app and email. On the back end, AiFi's technology will notify the Zappka store when products are running low as well as to organise the product mix.
With 20 years of experience on the Polish Market, the Żabka network presently consists of more than 7200 shops managed by almost 6000 franchisees under Żabka brand.
AiFi has 15 stores internationally with brands such as Choice Market, Carrefour, Wundermart and Loop Neighborhood, in addition to Żabka.
