Air Liquide and Hyundai Motor Group (HMG) are strengthening their global alliance to accelerate the hydrogen economy. The renewed Memorandum of Understanding, announced during the Hydrogen Council CEO Summit in Seoul, focuses on building a comprehensive hydrogen ecosystem spanning production, storage, transportation, and utilization.

The collaboration targets key regions: Europe, South Korea, and the United States, with an emphasis on heavy-duty transport, logistics, and public transit. By combining Hyundai’s mobility expertise with Air Liquide’s technical know-how, the partnership seeks to advance carbon neutrality and foster clean energy adoption.

Both companies plan to develop hydrogen hubs and expand refueling networks, ensuring reliable supply chains and supporting innovation in hydrogen technologies. This includes commercializing fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) for buses, logistics fleets, and port operations.

The alliance has already delivered results in South Korea, where Hyundai has deployed over 37,000 passenger FCEVs and 2,000 hydrogen buses. Air Liquide has also inaugurated the nation’s largest 450-bar filling center in Daesan, reinforcing infrastructure for growing demand.

As co-chairs of the Hydrogen Council, Air Liquide and Hyundai will continue driving global cooperation and policy advocacy to accelerate hydrogen adoption worldwide. Their shared vision: make hydrogen a practical, sustainable solution for the energy transition.
