Alt Capital invests in Saudi fuel retailer Mazaya
The private equity firm will acquire a significant minority stake in the operator of more than 250 sites, marking its first move into the kingdom’s fuel market.
Saudi private equity firm Alt Capital has signed an agreement to acquire a “significant minority stake” in Mazaya, which operates fuel stations and transport services across Saudi Arabia. It is Alt Capital’s first investment in the country’s fuel retail sector, as the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
Mazaya runs more than 250 sites across the kingdom and expects annual revenue of up to SAR 2 billion ($533 million) in 2026. Neither the value of the investment nor the exact size of the stake was disclosed.
Once completed, the investment is set to support Mazaya’s next phase of growth. Priorities include expanding and upgrading its network, improving operational performance and enhancing the customer experience at its stations and transport services. According to Alt Capital, its institutional backing will help the company accelerate expansion, raise operating standards and lead consolidation in the sector.
