Argentina: YPF moves forward in transforming its station network nationwide
The construction of the "Stations of the Future" in key areas of the country is the company's next step in adapting its business model to new trends.
YPF announced the construction of a new "Station of the Future" as part of the company's plan to transform its business and customer service through its app. This strategy will be implemented to mark the company's centenary and will not only seek to innovate its customer experience but to also adapt to new sustainable business models for its entire network in Argentina.
The company's President, Pablo González, and its CEO, Sergio Affronti, announced on the 18th of October the construction of a “station of the future” in the city of Río Gallegos, Santa Cruz province. The event was also attended by the governor of the province, Alicia Kirchner, and the mayor of the city, Pablo Grasso.
"We are very happy to be here, and to be able to work together with the Municipality, this station will be an emblem for the city," said Sergio Affronti, CEO of YPF.
This is a key step in the ambitious project that YPF seeks to implement over the next 5 years. The company plans to transform its network to deconstruct the customer service experience with the YPF APP as its main tool. Users will be able to pay and make reservations for the different services that the station offers through the app as well as accumulating points for several benefits. At the same time, interactive screens will be installed in each store for purchasing and all pumps will be upgraded to allow self service.
This transition is also being developed within the framework of a commitment to sustainability, which involves the implementation of different construction methods in order to favor energy and natural resource savings.
"Santa Cruz is the heart of YPF's oil and gas development. We are trying to change the last four years in which investment, production and reserves fell. Today we are at a new turning point and future projects are all about generating more investment," added Pablo González, President of YPF, highlighting the relationship between the territory and the company.
YPF is Argentina's leading retailer with more than 1,600 sites in the country.
