Asda Express reaches 500 locations as it enters 2026
The new sites reflect Asda’s continued strategy to grow its presence in high‑footfall urban areas in the UK.
Asda has entered 2026 by expanding its convenience footprint with the opening of two new Asda Express stores, pushing its nationwide estate beyond 500 locations.
The new sites, located in Bradford and Salford, reflect Asda’s continued strategy to grow its presence in high‑footfall urban areas and residential neighbourhoods.
Since moving into the convenience market in 2022, Asda has converted hundreds of former Co-op and EG Group sites and opened 17 new stores in 2025 alone, helping it build an estate now outperforming the wider convenience market, according to company leadership.
Joseph Sutton, vice president for Asda Express, said the latest openings build on “fantastic momentum” and demonstrate the brand’s commitment to offering strong value in smaller, local formats.
Each Express store offers more than 3,000 branded and own‑label products, aimed at everything from top‑up shopping to food‑to‑go.
