Belgium: Total opens Wallonia’s first bioCNG station
By 2030, the Wallonia region intends to have 220 CNG filling stations deployed in its territory.
Total continues expanding its gas filling infrastructure in Belgium with the opening of first bioCNG service station in the Wallonian region, according to Gaz-Mobilité.fr. Total launched its very first NGV filling station in Belgium at the end of 2019, in Bruxelles.
Wallonia’s first bioCNG station is located in the town of Jambes.
According to Gaz-Mobilité, some 23,000 private and professional vehicles run on natural gas in Belgium, and there are 3,000 in Wallonia. By 2030, the region intends to encourage the deployment of 220 CNG stations on its territory.
By reaching this target, Wallonia intends to have over 300,000 CNG vehicles on its roads, according to Philippe Henry, Vice-President and Walloon Minister for Climate, Energy and Mobility.
