bp pulse launches in Spain with first EV fast charging station
The brand’s arrival in the country coincides with the opening of its first charging station powered by 100% renewable electricity.
bp opened its first fast-charging point in Spain, located at a service station in Torrevieja, Alicante. Through this inauguration, the company presented the bp pulse brand in the country, dedicated to the development and operation of electric charging infrastructures.
This first fast-charging unit is already operational and another 12 points are planned to be up and running throughout the country before the end of the year. These openings will add to the 18,700 units available worldwide.
"Milestones such as the inauguration of the first bp pulse fast charging station, in Torrevieja, consolidate the role of our service station network as an electric power supply point and allow us to continue moving towards our goal of reaching 100,000 charging points worldwide by 2030," explained Andrés Guevara, President of bp Spain.
The bp pulse units consist of high-performance fast and ultra-fast chargers. Powered by 100% renewable electricity, they can provide between 150kW and 300 kW of charging power. Compatible with vehicles equipped with a CCS or CHAdeMO charging system, they can provide a range of up to 160 kilometres in as little as 10 minutes, depending on the electric vehicle model.
The company's goal is to consolidate its leadership position in the Iberian Peninsula by providing fast charging solutions for both passenger cars and fleets of heavy vehicles and vans, reaching 11,000 charging points by 2030.
