bp pulse has opened a new electric vehicle charging hub near Houston’s William P. Hobby Airport, expanding the company’s footprint in one of the fastest-growing EV markets in the United States. The site is aimed at ride-hail drivers, airport rental fleets and local motorists who rely on fast, reliable charging.

The hub features 40 ultrafast bays fitted with 150kW DC chargers, part of bp’s broader strategy to position itself as a major national charging operator. A covered canopy and free Wi-Fi round out the offering, amenities increasingly seen as standard as operators compete for high-usage drivers.

The Houston opening follows bp pulse’s first U.S. charging hub, which launched earlier this year at the company’s local headquarters. It also forms part of a wider partnership with Hertz to build airport-based charging infrastructure across the country. Recent hubs have opened at major sites including Los Angeles International Airport, bp pulse’s largest U.S. location, as well as San Francisco and Boston.

Ride-hail companies say demand for dependable fast-charging near airports is rising as more drivers switch to EVs. Hertz, which has been expanding its electrified rental fleet, said proximity and charging speed are essential for maintaining vehicle turnover.
