BP’s U.S. convenience retail growth leader steps down
Kevin Kapala exits after 21 years, citing a “natural inflection point” in his career.
Kevin Kapala, head of growth and customer sales for BP’s convenience retail business in the United States, has left the company after more than two decades. Kapala announced his departure on LinkedIn, describing the move as occurring “at a natural inflection point” in his career.
Since joining BP in 2004, Kapala held several vice president-level roles, most recently leading customer-facing sales and partnerships across approximately 8,500 locations nationwide. He also oversaw go-to-market strategies for BP’s c-store banners, including ampm and Amoco, while advancing digital transformation and franchise development.
“I’m grateful for the colleagues, customers, and partners I’ve had the privilege to work with, and proud of the breadth of experiences this journey afforded me,” Kapala wrote. He highlighted responsibilities spanning sales, marketing, operations, and strategy, as well as his role as an officer of BP Products North America and representation on external boards.
His departure comes as BP sharpens its convenience retail strategy under new leadership announced last week. The company has not disclosed plans to fill the position.
