Buc-ee’s to build huge $6-million car wash in Texas
The car wash tunnel is expected to be 240 feet long and could serve about 12 vehicles at a time.
Buc-ee's biggest location in the U.S. is adding a $6 million car wash to enhance the huge site, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
The Texas chain of colossal travel centers plans to build a 5,647-square-foot car wash tunnel at its “world record holder" travel center in New Braunfels.
The construction of the new car wash is expected to begin in early 2023. The car wash tunnel is expected to be 240 feet long and could serve about 12 vehicles at a time.
Built in 2012, the New Braunfels travel center is 66,355 square feet, or 20 times the size of the average 7-Eleven. For now, it is the store’s largest location and will eventually be eclipsed by three new 75,000-square-foot Buc-ee’s, one of which will be located in Tennessee and the other about 60 miles east of San Antonio in Luling.
