Casey’s announces agreement to acquire 49 Oklahoma stores

Alimentation Couche-Tard selling 269 sites across 25 states in the United States.

Leading convenience store chain Casey’s General Store announced an agreement to acquire 49 stores throughout Oklahoma from Circle K Stores Inc. for $39 million.

The transaction includes 46 leased properties and 3 owned properties and is expected to close in July, 2021. These stores will be supplied by the company’s new distribution centre in Joplin, Missouri.

“The decision to divest select stores fits within the company's network optimization strategy and follows a comprehensive and uniform network planning process that began in the Fall of 2020. Through this process, we have identified sites that no longer fit our strategic objectives, either from a brand perspective or from a regional scale perspective," said Alimentation Couche-Tard President and CEO Brian Hannasch.

The deal is part of Alimentation Couche-Tard’s efforts to sell 269 sites across 25 states in the United States and 37 sites across six provinces in Canada.

Casey's General Stores is a Fortune 500 company operating over 2,200 convenience stores in 16 states.
