Casey’s buys 26 Minit Mart stores
EG America sold the retail assets for $48 million in March, which will expand the chain's presence in Kansas City.
Casey’s General Stores has been confirmed as the buyer of 26 Minit Mart convenience stores from EG America.
The subsidiary of the British company sold the retail assets for $48 million back in March, as reported by C-Store Dive. News comes after the announcement of a $1.5 billion sale-leaseback agreement with Realty Income Corporation which involves the purchase of 415 c-store properties in the U.S.
All of the acquired outlets are located in Kansas City, Missouri, details of the acquisition and transition are still being discussed by the retailer. Casey’s currently operates 12 locations in the metro area of the city and more across the surrounding suburbs.
The purchase is aligned with the chain’s expansion goals after confirming similar transactions in Omaha, Nebraska; Oklahoma City; and Knoxville, Tennessee.
The EG Group has recently outlined its growth strategy in its first-quarter trading update, which consists of developing the Cumberland Farms branch in the country.
