Cathay Group scales up SAF operations with Neste

New agreement expands SAF supply across Europe, the U.S., and Asia-Pacific.

Cathay Group has partnered with Neste to supply Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel for its operations in three major regions: Europe, the United States, and Asia-Pacific. This collaboration marks a significant step in Cathay’s strategy to accelerate the adoption of SAF and reduce emissions from air travel.

Leveraging Neste’s global supply capabilities, SAF blended with conventional jet fuel is already being delivered for Cathay Pacific flights at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Los Angeles International Airport. In Asia-Pacific, Neste supplies SAF to Singapore Changi Airport for Air Hong Kong, the group’s all-cargo airline. These efforts reinforce Cathay’s commitment to innovation and sustainability across its network.

“Partnering with Neste marks a significant step toward our shared vision of decarbonizing air travel,” said Kristof Van Passel, Head of Procurement Operations & Sustainability at Cathay Pacific. “SAF continues to play an important role in our decarbonization journey as the most viable solution today for addressing emissions associated with flying.”

Neste is the world’s leading producer of SAF and renewable diesel, aiming to achieve a renewable production capacity of 6.8 million tons annually by 2027.
