Cepsa, Redexis accelerate NGV filling station deployment in Spain
Companies have started operating their fourth refueling station in the country, and they plan to start up another three locations during the first half of 2021.
Cepsa and Redexis are accelerating the deployment of its natural gas vehicle (NGV) filling station network in Spain as part of the strategic agreement signed in 2019.
Companies have started operating their fourth refueling station in the country, and they plan to start up another three locations during the first half of 2021.
Located in Castillejo de Iniesta, Cuenca, the fourth facility will supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) for heavy-duty transport. The new station is located on the A-3, the highway linking Madrid and Valencia, a strategic location for the transportation of goods between the center of the peninsula and the Mediterranean area, with over 5,000 heavy vehicles traveling daily.
Next three stations to be launched will be located in some of the main national transportation corridors; specifically, they will be located at Cepsa service stations in the provinces of Madrid, Jaén and Salamanca.
In addition to these stations, both companies have NGV refueling facilities in Puerto Lumbreras, Mercazaragoza and Trujillo.
In 2019, Redexis and Cepsa agreed to create the largest network of LNG and CNG refueling stations in Spain. In that agreement, Redexis committed to making an investment of 60 million euros through 2023 to undertake the construction and maintenance of 80 gas stations located at Cepsa service stations, which Cepsa will be in charge of supplying and marketing.
Cepsa has an extensive network of more than 1,500 service stations in Spain.
