Chargefox and the RAA to expand its EV network into South Australia

Both companies will install over 530 charging plugs after the organization won a State Government worht more than $12 million.

Chargefox has announced a new partnership with the Royal Automobile Association (RAA) to expand its EV charging network. This expansion will involve the installation of over 530 EV chargers to connect the city of Adelaide with South Australia.

The news comes after the RAA won a State Government grant worth more than $12 million. The capital will be implemented to create a statewide network of EV charging points along highways, regional cities, tourist destinations and Adelaide suburbs.

“Last year we announced a goal to quadruple the size of our network by the end of 2025. Our partnership with RAA means that we are able to dramatically increase the availability of EV charging infrastructure in South Australia, providing more options for locals and tourists wishing to explore all that the state has to offer,” said Marty Andrews, Chargefox CEO and Co-Founder.

“The maximum distance between charging points will be less than 200km – half the range of a typical EV car battery,” said Ian Stone, RAA Managing Director.

For the next two years, Chargefox will install a total of 536 EV charging points at 140 new locations to create the state’s first EV charging network. More than three-quarters of the new charge points will be located in regional South Australia.
