Colonial Group to acquire Foster Fuels

The deal will expand Colonial Group’s energy distribution footprint and add Foster Fuels’ fuel, propane and emergency response operations, with the transaction expected to close in October 2026.

Colonial Group has entered into an agreement to acquire Virginia-based Foster Fuels, a provider of fuel, lubricants, propane and mission-critical energy services, strengthening its presence across multiple customer segments in the United States.

The acquisition will expand Colonial Group’s capabilities in serving commercial, industrial, residential, agricultural and transportation customers. Foster Fuels is also known for its emergency fuel response services, which support critical industries and disaster recovery operations.

Under the agreement, Foster Fuels will continue operating under its existing brand and leadership structure. Colonial Group stated that all employees are expected to remain with the organization following the transaction.
