Couche-Tard opens new distribution hub for the Midwest
It is the first of three new hubs planned by Couche-Tard, with additional sites in Missouri and Ohio expected to open in the coming months.
Alimentation Couche-Tard has opened a major distribution center in Otsego, Minnesota, aiming to streamline supply operations across the Upper Midwest.
The 266,000-square-foot facility, which officially launched on November 18, will serve nearly 500 stores in the Twin Cities and surrounding states. It is the first of three new hubs planned by Couche-Tard, with additional sites in Missouri and Ohio expected to open in the coming months.
Operated by McLane Company, a leading logistics provider, the Otsego center employs around 150 staff and will handle packaged snacks, beverages, tobacco products, and prepared foods for the company’s “Fresh Food Fast” program. The move is part of a broader strategy to reduce reliance on third-party distribution and improve speed and accuracy in store deliveries.
Company executives say the investment reflects growing demand for convenience retail and the need for a more agile supply chain. “This facility is a key part of our effort to build world-class distribution capabilities,” said Trey Powell, Couche-Tard’s Senior Vice President of Global Merchandising.
Once all three centers are operational, Couche-Tard will support roughly 1,600 stores across 14 states, adding to existing self-distribution sites in Texas, Arizona, and Quebec. The expansion underscores the company’s push to strengthen its North American footprint amid rising competition in the convenience sector.
