Alimentation Couche-Tard has expanded its retail network across Florida by acquiring Dion’s Enterprises convenience store business.

A total of 11 outlets located in the Florida Keys will be rebranded to Circle K, according to a report by C-Store Dive. All stores will retain Dion’s team members.

The transaction includes three sites in Key West, two in Marathon, and the rest in Big Coppit, Florida City, Homestead, Stock Island, Islamorada and Summerland Key. With a total of 10 Circle K stores in the area, the purchase has now more than doubled Couche-Tard’s footprint.

Five Dion’s stores were closed last Wednesday and reopened as Circle K locations the next day, with five additional sites undergoing the same process from Thursday to Friday,  according to a report by Keysnews.com.

Dion’s business includes c-stores and wholesale fuel provision operations for marinas and dockside vessels, service stations and other businesses. The company is owned and operated by Steve and Linda Uphoff, after being acquired from its original owners in 2016. The Uphoff originally entered the convenience store business through Uppy’s Convenience Stores in 1996.
