EG America to sell 39 stores to BreakTime Corner Market

These Minit Mart locations will be rebranded to the new owner’s BrakeTime brand and retain all employees.

EG America has decided to sell 39 Minit Mart stores to BreakTime Corner Market, located across central and northern Illinois.

This deal represents BreakTime’s grand entrance to Illinois, as its sole location is established in a small town approximately 145 miles south of Chicago. As reported by C-Store Dive, the company will rebrand all locations and retain all employees.

This represents the company’s second acquisition of EG America’s assets this year, after acquiring 23 Loaf ’N Jug outlets recently.

Currently, BreakTime Corner Market operates over 300 locations under the BrakeTime and Corner Market brands across the United States.

This operation also represents EG’s efforts to restructure its operations, divesting retail assets since last year to help EG Group pay down debt. Since the start of last year, the company has sold more than 150 c-stores to accomplish this process.
