ELAFLEX HIBY acquires German supplier SGB
Both companies plan to strengthen and further develop the entire portfolio of leak and monitoring systems.
ELAFLEX HIBY Group has acquired German supplier and manufacturer of leak detection technology SGB GmbH. Having celebrated its 60th anniversary this year, SGB’s detectors are used for monitoring any double-walled tanks and pipes for leaks.
Both companies plan to strengthen and further develop the entire portfolio of leak and monitoring systems for double-walled tanks, pipelines, and containment areas. A big focus will be set on systems for high-vacuum applications for hydrogen and LNG.
"The acquisition of such a high performance company provides us, as an internationally operating system supplier for refuelling technology, with an excellent basis for further development of our product concepts,” said Stefan Kunter, CEO of the ELAFLEX HIBY Group.
SGB will retain its operational independence and sales channels under the new ownership. Jost Berg will remain as Managing Director and continue to lead his team of 45 employees in Siegen.
“By combining our expertise and experience, we strengthen our leading positions in the market and create a future oriented basis, for our high performance equipment and service standards,” said Jost Berg.
