Eurowag launches biofuel swap to accelerate truck decarbonisation
New service with FincoEnergies enables certified CO₂ cuts without operational changes.
Eurowag has introduced Biofuel Swap, a new decarbonisation service developed in partnership with FincoEnergies, enabling transport companies to achieve immediate, certified CO₂ reductions without modifying their operations or infrastructure.
Biofuel Swap is based on HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) and can be used even in regions where HVO is not physically available. Customers continue fueling with conventional diesel while Eurowag ensures an equivalent volume of HVO is supplied into the European network through its certified partner FincoEnergies. Each customer receives an audited sustainability certificate detailing the fuel input, emissions factor, time period and estimated CO₂ savings.
“The transition to net zero in commercial road transport requires solutions that deliver immediate, scalable CO₂ reductions across Europe. By combining our expanding HVO network with the new Biofuel Swap service, in cooperation with FincoEnergies, our customers experience no restrictions whatsoever and everything is fully certified,” said Matthias Maedge, Vice President CRT Decarbonisation at Eurowag.
Eurowag customers also benefit from FincoEnergies’ expertise in sustainable fuels and emissions accounting. “Road transport decarbonisation cannot wait for perfect conditions. Together with Eurowag, we are embedding decarbonisation directly into daily transport operations, making sustainable biofuel solutions scalable, transparent and easy to adopt across Europe,” explained Oliver Steen, Director Renewables Germany at FincoEnergies.
Eurowag’s acceptance network includes more than 2,000 alternative fuel stations, over 700 of them offering HVO.
