Everfuel to test mobile hydrogen refueling station
The company has signed an agreement with Vestische Straßenbahnen for a pilot project to implement its Everfiller solution for public transport.
Everfuel and Vestische Straßenbahnen have signed a contract to jointly test Everfiller, a fully mobile hydrogen refueling solution, in real-world conditions as part of a pilot project.
Vestische Currently operates more than 260 of its own buses in the district of Recklinghausen, in the city of Bottrop and in the northern part of the city of Gelsenkirchen. The company has initiated the transition to sustainable solutions for public transport and is one of the pioneers in the use of alternative drives in bus transport.
Everfuel experiences that many fleet operators acknowledge hydrogen as a viable solution to decarbonise their fleet, but currently lacks suitable hydrogen refueling solutions, particularly for entry-level applications. The Everfiller lowers these barriers of entry and makes hydrogen accessible to operators with small vehicle fleets.
"We see a lot of demand from operators who want to test hydrogen as a fuel and we are happy that we are now able to use the Everfiller to make hydrogen available to even more customers who want to decarbonise their mobility operations," said Lars Jakobsen, Sales Director of Everfuel.
The contract value is approximately EUR 1.1 million. In the second half of 2023, the first five fuel cell buses are to be sequentially integrated into the Vestische bus fleet. At the start of the project, the buses will be refueled with the Everfiller at the depot in Herten.
