France: Atawey plans to reach 150 hydrogen stations by 2025
The green hydrogen company envisages to capture 40% of the country’s hydrogen filling market, as France aims to develop nearly 400 hydrogen sites by 2025.
France’s green hydrogen company Atawey is planning to capture 40% of the country’s market for hydrogen filling stations by 2025, expanding its footprint to more than 150 sites nationwide in the next five years, says Atawey’s President, Jean-Michel Amaré.
Atawey’s growth plan Savoyard SME for the development of the hydrogen retail infrastructure in France will be underpinned by the government’s plan France Relance, that envisages nearly 400 hydrogen refuelling station to be deployed in the country by 2025. Currently, there are around 30 hydrogen filling locations in France.
Atawey’s President reveal that the company will undergo a “significant fundraising effort” in 2021 to be able to supply over 150 hydrogen stations in the next five years. The new funds will be allocated to develop a new manufacturing site, and to increase the company’s workforce from 30 to 150 employees by 2025.
In addition to France, the green hydrogen company is also looking at the possibility of expanding in various European countries, says Amaré.
