Grab and Charge+ join forces to expand EV charging in Vietnam

Partnership aims to boost green mobility with a nationwide charging and battery swapping network.

Grab Vietnam has partnered with Charge+ to develop an extensive charging and battery swapping network across Vietnam. The collaboration seeks to make e-mobility more accessible by offering flexible solutions for electric cars, motorcycles, and e-scooters, benefiting Grab driver-partners and EV users alike.

“Grab fully supports Vietnam’s green transition directives,” said Ma Tuan Trong, CEO of Grab Vietnam. “With Charge+’s experience and Grab’s technology and market insights, this partnership will help solve the charging station equation in Vietnam and build a sustainable EV ecosystem.”

The agreement includes technical integration to display Charge+ network information on the Grab app, real-time data for driver-partners, and joint efforts to deploy charging points at optimal locations. Grab driver-partners will also enjoy preferential charging rates.

Charge+ CEO Goh Chee Kiong added: “Charge+ is pleased to partner Grab to enable a smoother and more sustainable experience for consumers. We aim to roll out 5,000 charging points in Vietnam by 2030 to make EVs the convenient choice for drivers.”

This initiative reinforces both companies’ commitment to Vietnam’s Net Zero roadmap and the broader goal of accelerating green mobility in Southeast Asia.

In Vietnam, Charge+ is expanding its charging infrastructure with a target of 5,000 charging points by 2030. The company is also working with partners such as Porsche, BMW, Petrolimex, CapitaLand, and Ascott to develop charging facilities in residential areas, commercial centers, hotels, and expressway rest stops.
