GS25 hits 400 stores in Vietnam amid rapid expansion in Hanoi
The milestone marks a significant push into northern Vietnam for the Korean c-store brand.
South Korea’s GS25 convenience store chain has reached 400 outlets across Vietnam, following the opening of its 50th store in Hanoi this month. The milestone marks a significant push into northern Vietnam, where the brand began expanding in March and added 50 locations in just eight months, reports The Chosun Daily.
GS25 entered Vietnam in 2018 with its first store in Ho Chi Minh City and has since grown to 350 outlets in the south. The company’s strategy hinges on its identity as a “Korean-style convenience store,” blending localized offerings with Korean cultural trends.
Stores feature themed concepts such as K-Food sections serving tteokbokki, gimbap, and bibimbap, and K-Beauty corners showcasing popular cosmetic brands like Dr.G and Round Lab. GS25 has also introduced Wine25 stores, stocking over 600 varieties of alcohol, and Cafe25 outlets, offering more than 35 drinks and desserts. These concepts have proven popular among Vietnam’s younger consumers, who are increasingly drawn to Korean pop culture.
Earlier this month, GS25 hosted the “Vietnam Music Festival 2025” in Ho Chi Minh City, attracting over 10,000 attendees. The company says it aims to become Vietnam’s leading convenience store chain by balancing Korean branding with local adaptation.
