H2 Mobility sees surge in 350-bar hydrogen refueling as German demand grows
The company saw 350-bar refuelings account for well over half of the hydrogen volume supplied in March.
For the first time, the volume of hydrogen dispensed at 350 bar has surpassed that at 700 bar across H2 Mobility’s network in Germany, signaling a shift in the country’s hydrogen mobility sector.
According to figures released by the company, March 2025 saw 350-bar refuelings account for well over half of the hydrogen volume supplied. This milestone also coincided with a 10% year-on-year rise in total hydrogen sales, driven by increased usage of hydrogen-powered trucks and buses.
“The figures speak volumes: our investment in 350-bar infrastructure is clearly delivering results. Heavy-duty transport is becoming a key driver of hydrogen mobility,” said Martin Jüngel, Managing Director and CFO of H2 Mobility.
The trend is further underscored by changing patterns at stations. While the overall volume of hydrogen dispensed rose, the number of refueling events decreased: an indication that fewer, larger vehicles with greater tank capacities are now accounting for a bigger share of hydrogen use.
These shifts point to the expanding role of heavy-duty transport in Germany’s clean mobility strategy.
