Hyroad Energy boosts hydrogen trucking in California
Partnership with Pacific Clean Fuels and OneH2 aims to scale zero-emission freight along key port corridors.
Hyroad Energy has entered a new partnership with Pacific Clean Fuels and OneH2 to support one of California’s largest deployments of hydrogen-powered trucks. The collaboration is set to begin commercial operations in January 2026, targeting freight routes between the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
As part of the agreement, Hyroad will use a portion of its recently acquired fleet of 113 Nikola hydrogen fuel-cell trucks. Pacific Clean Fuels and OneH2 are developing a dedicated hydrogen refueling station in Long Beach that will supply Hyroad’s fleet under an exclusive fueling arrangement. The facility is one of several hubs the company plans across California and Texas as it builds a regional hydrogen network.
Hyroad CEO Dmitry Serov said the partnership highlights the need for coordinated investment across the hydrogen supply chain. “Building a sustainable hydrogen trucking ecosystem means aligning every part of the value chain,” he said.
The initiative brings together the company’s truck-as-a-service model, Pacific Clean Fuels’ infrastructure expansion, and OneH2’s heavy-duty fueling systems to support reliable, commercial-scale operations.
Hyroad is also expanding its services to include maintenance, software and parts support, positioning itself as a full-service partner for fleets transitioning to hydrogen.
