Italy: Porsche, Q8, Enel X to expand ultrafast charging at the forecourt
A recent agreement signed plans for the installation of 20 ultrafast charging points at 20 Q8 fuel stations in Italy by the end of 2021.
Porsche Italia, Q8 and Enel X are joining forces to expand the ultrafast charging network across Italy with the installation of ultrafast charging points at 20 Q8 fuel stations by the end of 2021, according to a company’s press release.
The 300 kW capacity High Power Charging (HPC) stations, operated by Enel X, will allow drivers to recharge two electric vehicles at the same time in a few minutes. The agreement also provides for one of the chargers and the associated parking area of each active station to be reserved for Porsche customers only.
Once active, the project’s ultrafast stations will be integrated into the Porsche mobility ecosystem and be visible on the Enel X JuicePass app, adding to the company’s more than 12,000 charging points throughout Italy.
The first ultrafast charging station will be inaugurated at the Q8 service area of Paderno Dugnano (province of Milan), followed by other service stations at other key junctions of daily traffic and seasonal tourism, including Carate Brianza (province of Monza Brianza), Erbusco (Brescia), Padua, Perugia, Rome, Naples, Polignano a Mare (Bari), Brindisi, and Porto Rotondo (Oristano).
Q8 is one of the main Italian players in the energy sector, with a network of approximately 2,800 service stations distributed throughout the country.
Enel X, Enel Group’s business line dedicated to innovative products and digital solutions, has the goal of reaching a total of 28,000 charging stations in Italy by 2022.
