Kempower and Circle K expand DC fast charging partnership across Europe

Circle K to roll out DC fast charging infrastructure across the convenience retailer's European network.

Finnish EV charging manufacturer Kempower has signed an extended partnership with Circle K to roll out DC fast charging infrastructure across the convenience retailer's European network, building on an existing collaboration in the Nordic market.

The agreement will see Kempower supply its fast-charging solutions to Circle K sites in several new European markets over the coming years, as the retailer looks to establish itself as a leading destination for on-the-go EV charging.

The two companies have already worked together extensively in Scandinavia, with more than 200 Kempower charging points deployed at Circle K locations in Sweden and Norway. That portfolio includes Circle K's first service station dedicated entirely to DC charging, which opened in Gothenburg last year equipped with Kempower hardware.

"Reliable and user-friendly DC fast charging, which is convenient for quick charging stops, along with Circle K's consumer-friendly service station network, is exactly what is needed to make the transition to electric vehicles easier across Europe," said Mathias Wiklund, Chief Sales Officer at Kempower.

Maria Estenstad Friis, Circle K's Director of Network Development & Operations for its e-mobility team, said the company wants to become "our customers' preferred on-the-go charging destination, and the mobility partner of choice within the B2B segment."
