Kempower to equip Benelux’s largest public truck charging network
DCB Energy has already opened its flagship charging hub in Transportzone Meer.
Finnish charging manufacturer Kempower has partnered with Dutch fuel supplier DCB Energy to develop what is set to become the largest public truck charging network in the Benelux region. The rollout comes as logistics companies face mounting pressure to cut emissions and electrify heavy‑duty fleets.
DCB Energy has already opened its flagship charging hub in Transportzone Meer, Belgium, near the Dutch border. The site, fitted last summer with 10 truck charging points and two passenger EV chargers, marks the first stage of an eight‑location expansion. Four Dutch sites (Aalsmeer, Assen, Waalwijk and Breda) are now operational, with additional hubs planned for Schiphol Amsterdam and two sites in Rotterdam later this year.
In total, the network will add 12.8MW of charging capacity. Kempower is supplying 17 Satellite units and 24 Station Chargers, enabling 64 new charging points. Each charger can deliver up to 400kW of dynamically distributed power, designed to minimise congestion at busy public stations.
The project is being delivered with engineering support from Contrall and installer TSG Energy. DCB Energy, which has been broadening its services to include EV charging, says the expansion will make it the Netherlands’ largest truck‑charging provider in 2024.
