Korea: Ministop c-store tests fresh meat vending machine
The service targets working single households or any other customer who wants to buy meat when butcher stores are closed.
Ministop, a Japanese convenience store franchise, is testing a fresh meat vending machine at a franchise store near central Seoul, South Korea, reports Aju Business Daily. The service targets working single households or any other customer who wants to buy meat late at night or early morning, when butcher stores are closed.
"Consumers can buy fresh meat at hours like late at night or early in the morning when butcher stores and megastores are closed," a Ministop official said in a statement.
The vending machine is designed as a refrigerated showcase, offering customers the possibility to check the products through the window. It offers an assortment of meat products including ready-to-cook, ready-to-eat packages or Black Iberian Pork.
Ministop would be installing meat vending machines in other stores.
