Lula Commerce raises $8 million to accelerate ai-driven retail expansion

Lula now supports more than 2,000 retailers across the U.S., including Circle K franchisees.

AI retail platform Lula Commerce has raised $8 million in a Series A funding round led by SEMCAP AI, joined by Rich Product Ventures, GO PA Fund, NZVC, UP.Partners, Green Circle Foodtech Ventures and Outlander VC. The latest round brings Lula’s total funding to over $16 million.

Founded to modernize convenience retail, Lula’s technology integrates delivery apps such as Uber Eats and DoorDash through its Lula Hub dashboard, enables direct online ordering via Lula Direct, and automates key store operations using more than 30 AI tools under Lula Operators. The company says these tools give independent retailers access to capabilities once exclusive to major chains.

Lula now supports more than 2,000 retailers across the U.S., including Circle K franchisees, United Pacific, Jacksons Food Stores and Par Mar Stores. Investors describe the sector as “ripe for digitization,” with nearly half of Americans visiting convenience stores daily.

Co-founder and CEO Adit Gupta said the company aims to be “the backbone” of retail transformation as digitalization reshapes consumer expectations. Lula plans to use the funds to expand its engineering, sales and customer success teams.
