MAES introduces HVO100 in Belgium

The fossil-free liquid fuel will be available at two stations that mainly cater for trucks.

Belgium fuel retailer MAES will start offering fossil-free fuel in Belgium for passenger cars, vans and trucks.

This pure Hydro treated Vegetable Oil (HVO100) is now available at the MAES filling stations in Londerzeel and Ruisbroek.

Both stations are  focused on heavy-duty vehicles but the pumps can also be used for passenger cars and vans.

HVO, also known as blue diesel, is a high-end diesel substitute made entirely from renewable raw materials or waste materials. It is the most sustainable fuel for diesel vehicles on the market with no less than 89% less CO2 but also 30% less particulate matter and 9% less nitrogen oxide compared to regular diesel.

CNG and LNG fuelling lanes have also been added to the MAES Londerzeel site.
