Mahindra and HPCL partner to expand EV charging across India
The new agreement will deploy Charge_iN fast chargers at HPCL fuel stations nationwide.
Charge_iN by Mahindra has signed a strategic agreement with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to develop electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at HPCL retail outlets across India. The partnership aims to accelerate e-mobility adoption by expanding access to fast, reliable charging infrastructure.
HPCL operates more than 24,400 fuel stations nationwide and has already deployed over 5,400 EV charging stations under its HP e‑Charge network. Leveraging the retailer’s footprint, the collaboration provides a platform for rapid, nationwide expansion of public EV charging.
As part of the agreement, Charge_iN by Mahindra will install 180 kW dual‑gun chargers designed specifically for electric four‑wheelers, offering faster and more convenient charging options. The initiative aligns with national goals to strengthen India’s public EV charging ecosystem as the country advances its transition toward greener transportation.
Charge_iN by Mahindra is part of the company’s broader commitment to “UNLIMIT electric mobility” through building an ultrafast charging network. The cooperation marks another step in fuel brand effort to establish a comprehensive EV ecosystem in the world’s third‑largest automotive market.
HPCL’s participation also aligns with its diversification strategy, which includes investments in renewable and alternative energy solutions. The company is rapidly expanding its EV charging infrastructure across highways and major cities, supporting India’s shift toward clean mobility.
Together, Charge_iN by Mahindra and HPCL aim to create a scalable charging network that enhances user experience, improves convenience, and strengthens confidence in nationwide EV travel.
