MFG completes rollout of rapid EV charging bays across Morrisons

More than 580 charging bays installed at nearly 300 supermarkets nationwide.

Motor Fuel Group (MFG), the UK’s largest independent forecourt operator, has completed the installation of rapid electric vehicle (EV) charging bays across the Morrisons supermarket network.

The rollout was achieved in just five months, adding more than 580 charging bays to nearly 300 supermarket sites nationwide. This investment is part of MFG’s strategy to future-proof the retail sites and support the country’s energy transition by integrating rapid charging into everyday retail locations.

“Completing this rollout of rapid charging bays across the Morrisons network in just five months is a testament to our team’s expertise and commitment,” said William Bannister, CEO of MFG. “We are delivering on our promise to provide the infrastructure communities need to embrace electric vehicles, while continuing to invest in a best-in-class experience for all our customers.”

The initiative complements MFG’s broader plan to develop ultra-rapid charging hubs across its forecourt network. By the end of 2025, MFG EV Power aims to operate around 1,900 bays, creating the UK’s largest rapid and ultra-rapid charging network.

As the UK accelerates towards its zero-emission targets, this milestone reinforces MFG’s purpose in enabling a smooth transition for drivers. By combining EV infrastructure with established retail amenities, the company’s goal is to make electric travel more practical, convenient and accessible nationwide.
