Myanmar: Over 2,500 private filling stations running
There are now 2,576 private filling stations across Myanmar. Nearly 190 private fuel stations were approved this year.
In the nine months of 2019, nearly 190 private fuel stations were approved in Myanmar, bringing the total number to 2,576 sites in the country, according to Eleven Media Group.
Up to 1,683 of these are located in Mandalay, Bago, Sagaing, Ayeyawady, Yangon and Magway regions.
By the end of December 2018, there were 2,389 fuel stations.
These figures would follow the lists of private filling station licenses issued by the Ministry of Electricity and Energy of Myanmar.
Myanmar imported over 4.9 million tons of fuel (US$2.9 billion) in 2019, over 480,000 tons less (US$380 million) compared to the same period last year.
