OLA Energy Kenya launches EV swapping station
The Peponi station, along with others on Ngong and Lusaka Roads, supports over 5,000 monthly battery swaps.
OLA Energy Kenya has opened a battery charging station at its Peponi Road site in Nairobi, in partnership with ARC Ride Global and Musashi Seimitsu.
The initiative aims to promote affordable, sustainable mobility while reducing Nairobi’s carbon footprint. OLA Energy’s General Manager, Cyrine Draif, joined ARC Ride CEO Joseph Hurst and Musashi Group CEO Hiroshi Otsuka for the launch.
The Peponi station, along with others on Ngong and Lusaka Roads, supports over 5,000 monthly battery swaps. ARC Ride, which assembles electric motorcycles in Nairobi, plans to expand the network further. Musashi Seimitsu brings its expertise in vehicle propulsion to the collaboration, driving the shift toward cleaner energy in Kenya.
