ORLEN Deutschland GmbH has acquired 17 automated service stations from the Austrian mineral oil group OMV. As part of the company’s strategic expansion, the sites will  operate under the ORLEN express brand in the near future.

The acquired sites are located in the federal states of Bavaria (13 locations), Baden-Württemberg (3), and Hessen (1). All of them are automated, operated without staff, laundry service, shop or bistro, which is a novelty for the ORLEN network in the country.

Due to some of the forecourts being Avanti stations taken over by OMV, those will continue to operate under the existing brand name. These will gradually be rebranded to ORLEN express after receiving the official approvals.

“This acquisition is an important step in our journey to expanding our network across the country with a focus on southern Germany,” said Piotr Guział, Chief Development Officer of ORLEN Deutschland.

The transaction brings the total number of stations operated by the retailer throughout Germany up to 604.
