Pertamina promises regular fuel supply in Indonesia
The Indonesian energy firm says it owns the whole supply chain and no disruptions are expected in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.
Indonesian state-run oil company Pertamina has assured the Indonesian public it has enough supply of fuel and liquefied petroleum gas, or LPG, to last the coronavirus outbreak.
The leading fuel retailer in Indonesia says it keeps enough fuel and LPG for 20 days at any given time. It has also said that all of its gas stations will continue to run normally during the outbreak, reports Jakarta Globe.
"As a state-owned company, Pertamina controls the supply, refinery, distribution and marketing of oil and gas. We will ensure fuel and LPG distribution throughout the country remains uninterrupted,” said Fajriyah Usman, Pertamina's corporate communication vice president.
The company also asked customers to buy fuel responsibly and avoid panic.
The Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry issues a decree two weeks ago that erases a price floor for gasoline and diesel set by a previous decree, providing flexibility for distributors to reduce prices as low as possible in accordance with falling global oil prices.
