Peru oil company Petroperu says it is the only LPG supplier as Repsol, others vulnerable to rough seas
Peruvian state oil company Petroperu said in a statement at the end of March that for the past several days it has been the only company supplying liquid petroleum gas (LPG) because it has a terminal which is unaffected by rough seas, unlike the Peruvian terminals of private companies Repsol and Primax.
Petroperu said its terminal in the port of Callao which receives LPG from the port of Pisco “is the only terminal currently operating in all of central Peru” while those of competitors in LPG, Mexican-based Zeta Gas and Spain-based Repsol, have closed.
The company has hired a boat with capacity to hold 45,000 barrels to be used as a floating terminal, the statement said.
