Petrolimex grows digital payments with Visa co-branded cards
New product suite supports Vietnam’s cashless economy and enhances transparency for consumers and businesses.
Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) has announced a major step in its digital transformation through a new nationwide agreement with Visa to launch co-branded personal and corporate payment cards. The initiative builds on the introduction of contactless Visa acceptance at Petrolimex stations in 2022, which helped reduce wait times and improve operational efficiency.
The Petrolimex–Visa card program introduces four key product lines: Personal Credit, Personal Debit, Corporate Credit, and Corporate Debit. For consumers, the cards offer secure, seamless, and faster transactions along with access to loyalty rewards. For businesses, particularly those operating large fleets, the corporate card options aim to simplify expense management, strengthen cost control, and increase operational transparency.
Luu Van Tuyen, Board of Management member and Director General of Petrolimex, emphasized the significance of the collaboration: “By adopting modern digital payment solutions, we can enhance financial oversight and increase operational transparency, particularly for enterprises with extensive operations and high fuel consumption demands.”
By advancing secure and efficient digital payments, the retailer strengthens its role as a key player in Vietnam’s transition to a cashless economy. The company expects the co-branded cards to deliver long-term benefits for customers while supporting its broader digitalization strategy.
In the next phase, Petrolimex and Visa plan to scale the program nationwide and further expand features to enhance the user experience, ensuring added value for both individual consumers and commercial clients across Vietnam.
