Petroperu says after “Swissleaks” report that it is no longer associated with former high ranking official, trader

Peruvian state oil company Petroperu said in February in a statement that in reply “to a journalistic investigation denominated Swissleaks where it is said that HSBC had helped clients avoid taxes” it wanted to state that two individuals mentioned in the journalistic investigation are no longer associated nor trade with Petroperu.

Petroperu said that one of the persons mentioned in the report, Alfredo Eyzaguirre, was in charge of oil products purchasing as ex manager of the deparment of external markets of Petroperu during 2002 and 2003 but that “since that date there was not any work relationship”.

Petroperu said that the other individual named in the journalistic investigation, Matias Rojas, used to sell kerosene and diesel to Petroperu but has not done so for a decade.
