Pronto Copec moves toward “Zero Waste” goal by 2029
The convenience retail advances its sustainability strategy with ambitious waste reduction targets.
Pronto Copec, a subsidiary of Copec, has unveiled progress on its plan to eliminate waste generation by 2029, reinforcing its commitment to a circular and responsible business model.
In the latest reporting period, the company managed 472 tons of organic waste, 1,575 tons of used oil, and 2,166 tons of recycled materials across its 488 stores nationwide. These results stem from a series of initiatives, including operational partnerships, food donation programs, and improvements in logistics efficiency.
“Sustainability guides every stage of our operation and shapes our decisions,” said María José López, Strategic Growth and Sustainability Manager at Pronto Copec.
The company will continue strengthening infrastructure and processes to achieve its “Zero Waste” goal by 2029, consolidating its role as a leading innovator in environmental practices within Chile’s convenience retail sector.
