Puma Energy signs logistics partnership with BHL Group in Zambia

Five-year deal strengthens Zambia–Namibia trade corridor and enhances supply chain security.

Puma Energy has entered into a new five‑year partnership with Buks Haulage Limited (BHL Group), one of Southern Africa’s leading logistics operators, to reinforce regional trade connectivity and supply chain resilience across the Zambia–Namibia corridor. The agreement marks a significant milestone for the company as it continues to strengthen fuel supply channels for Zambia’s mining, industrial and retail sectors.

Under the partnership, BHL Group will manage the transportation of Puma Energy’s fuel from Walvis Bay, Namibia, to key hubs in Zambia, including Solwezi, one of the country’s most important mining regions. The collaboration also includes optimised return journeys to support copper exports, improving efficiency and further increasing the corridor’s economic relevance.

Ben Hassan Ouattara, Head of Africa at Puma Energy, highlighted the strategic importance of the agreement, stating: “This partnership is a vital step forward in ensuring secure, safe and reliable supplies for our mining and retail customers in Zambia. Expanding our transport routes strengthens operational resilience and further reinforces the Zambia‑Namibia trade corridor as a key driver of regional economic growth.”

The partnership was announced at Mining Indaba 2026, where regional trade and infrastructure investment remain central themes.

This cooperation underscores Puma Energy’s ongoing commitment to improving logistics reliability in Southern Africa and supporting the growth of Zambia’s commodity‑driven economy.
