RaceTrac bets on pizza and coffee in $20.5M store revamp
The Atlanta-based chain is remodeling 32 Central Florida sites as part of a $63 million program covering 98 stores across the state, with work running through 2027.
RaceTrac is investing about $20.5 million to remodel 32 stores in Central Florida, a project which is part of a program worth more than $63 million that covers 98 stores in Florida. The company calls its largest remodel program in the state to date.
Some sites have already reopened, and the rest will follow through 2027 and most stores will stay open during construction. Twelve of the remodeled stores are in Orange County, six in Volusia and five in Osceola. Seminole, Lake and Brevard counties have three each, as reported by WhatNow Orlando.
The upgrades focus on food. Each store gets a grab-and-go pizza bar with pies made in-store daily and a redesigned coffee area serving six blends of Crazy Good Coffee. Some locations will also have an expanded Swirl World frozen yogurt bar. The stores also get new layouts, signage and decor.
RaceTrac runs more than 300 stores in Florida, which it considers a primary market for investment. In July, the company committed nearly $20 million to remodel 30 stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with a similar food and coffee upgrade.
