Repsol has acquired a 70% stake in Klikin, a start-up that has developed a digital platform for bookings, payment and promotional management to connect local businesses with their clients. The operation will boost Repsol’s Waylet payment app as they look to make it a standard in payment and loyalty for all types of businesses and achieve international presence.

Waylet allows customers to pay with their phones in any of Repsol’s gas stations in a simple and quick manner, without the need to leave their cars on many occasions, according to a company release.

Created by Gustavo García Brusilovsky, Klikin has always searched for a way to use technology to give knowledge and control of their clients to different businesses.

In addition to more investment in the digital segment, Repsol has also presented its 2.0 service station, “a place to charge-up”, last week in Madrid. The new format includes a partnership with Starbucks, freshly baked bread, bio products, fast WiFi and others, according to El Mundo.
