Rolande opens new LNG station in Hamburg
The site is a former Tankpool24 facility equipped with two dispensers and futuristic architecture adapted to the requirements of CNG/LNG trucks.
Rolande opened a new LNG refuelling station with two dispensers in Hamburg. With this new location, the Dutch company is further expanding its network in Germany to offer the alternative fuel for heavy duty vehicles.
The former Tankpool24 station is located on a strategically important transport corridor for goods deliveries to Scandinavia, northeastern Europe and the transport of containers to and from the Port of Hamburg.
“Hamburg marks a milestone for Rolande to make liquefied natural gas available for all trucks at strategic transport hubs. LNG is an important step towards sustainable fuel. As soon as emission-free bio-LNG is available in sufficient quantities, Rolande will offer 100 percent biological fuel at all its stations,” said Jolon van der Schuit, CEO of Rolande.
The public self-service station is part of the firm’s effort to establish LNG as an environmentally friendly fuel. Due to the spacious entrance and exit, the facility is optimally dimensioned for heavy trucks. Its futuristic architecture is functionally adapted to the requirements of CNG/LNG trucks.
With its filling stations, the company makes an important contribution to the currently existing LNG network in Germany, which currently includes 135 public filling stations according to the German Energy Agency DENA. Rolande has already achieved full coverage in the Netherlands and Belgium, and further locations are also planned in Germany by the end of the year.
