Royal Farms adds hyper-fast EV charging across Maryland locations
Convenience store chain expands services with more than 55 ultra-fast chargers in partnership with Electrify America.
Royal Farms, the neighborhood convenience store operator known for food and fuel offerings, is expanding into e-mobility with the addition of hyper-fast electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at eight of its Maryland locations, a rollout in collaboration with Electrify America.
The first stations are already open in Halethorpe and Oxon Hill, with additional sites coming to Annapolis, Catonsville, Charlotte Hall, Columbia, Pikesville, and Towson. Once complete, the collaboration will provide more than 55 individual chargers, each capable of speeds up to 350 kW, enough to charge a compatible vehicle in as little as 20 minutes.
“At Royal Farms, we’re committed to innovating around the evolving needs of our communities,” said Thomas Ruszin, Fuel & Environmental Leader at Royal Farms. “Our partnership with Electrify America brings high-speed EV charging to the locations our customers already visit for fuel, food, and convenience. These new stations make it easier for drivers to choose electric without sacrificing speed or comfort, while reinforcing our commitment to accessibility and progress.”
By offering EV drivers access to ultra-fast charging alongside fresh food and beverages, Royal Farms aims to position its convenience stores as key destinations for both traditional and electric motorists. The investment also aligns with broader trends in the retail and fueling industries, where convenience retailers are increasingly integrating charging infrastructure to meet the demands of a growing EV customer base.
