Rutter’s expands into Virginia with first store in Winchester
The Pennsylvania-based convenience store chain continues its regional growth, unveiling a 14,000-square-foot flagship with extensive dining and entertainment offerings.
Rutter’s has officially entered its fourth state with the opening of a new convenience store in Winchester, Virginia. Located at 1510 Coverstone Drive, the 14,000-square-foot site marks the company’s 91st location and the latest step in its expansion beyond Pennsylvania, Maryland, and West Virginia. The move underscores Rutter’s ongoing strategy to bring its upscale convenience concept to new markets across the Mid-Atlantic region.
“We’re excited to welcome the Winchester community to our newest location,” said Chris Hartman, Rutter’s vice president of Fuels, Marketing and Development. “This store is designed to be more than a fuel stop; it’s a welcoming space to shop, dine, relax and enjoy sports games with friends and family.” The store operates 24 hours a day and combines retail, dining, and leisure under one roof.
Among its key features are a curated beer cave and wine selection, a full restaurant serving Rutter’s Made For You customizable food menu, and the 1747 Bar & Lounge—offering nearly 75 alcoholic beverages, including canned cocktails, spiked slushies, and local brews. The bar is fitted with 20 high-definition 65-inch televisions and three live sports tickers, creating an atmosphere aimed at sports fans and casual diners alike. “Whether you're watching your favorite team play or just grabbing a drink, the 1747 Bar & Lounge offers a front-row seat with wall-to-wall screens, live updates, and a menu tailored for game day,” Hartman added.
Designed to cater to both everyday motorists and professional drivers, the Winchester store includes 12 auto-fueling locations, five commercial lanes, and ample parking for larger vehicles.
Headquartered in York, Pennsylvania, Rutter’s continues to operate not only its growing chain of convenience stores but also a dairy, beverage, and real estate division as part of its diversified family-owned business.
