Saudi Aramco opens first branded station in Philippines

Saudi energy giant acquired a 25% equity stake in Unioil Petroleum Philippines less than a year ago.

Saudi Aramco has inaugurated its first branded station in the Philippines, less than a year after acquiring a 25% equity stake in Unioil Petroleum Philippines, one of the country's largest fuel retailers.

The station on Sucat Road, Parañaque City in the Manila capital region opened on July 16, offering Aramco's premium fuel technology, lubricants and car-care services. Several further Aramco-branded sites are already in development, with Unioil president Kenneth Pundanera confirming locations on North EDSA, Quezon Avenue and along the North Luzon Expressway.

"We are proud to introduce Aramco's own retail experience. This is only the beginning of our journey in the Philippines," said Ziyad Al-Juraifani, Aramco's vice president of retail. "Together with our partners, our dedicated teams and the communities we serve, we look forward to building a lasting relationship."

The opening marks Aramco's return to the Philippine market after a 17-year absence, following its 2008 exit when it divested its 40% stake in Petron, the country's largest oil refiner. The Unioil partnership, announced in November, gives Aramco a platform to expand its global retail network while providing Unioil with access to a reliable fuel supply to meet growing domestic demand.

"This milestone matters," Pundanera said. "Filipinos deserve world-class products, better service and more meaningful choices."
